L’oreal False Lash Telescopic Waterproof Mascara Review

L’oreal False Lash Telescopic Waterproof Mascara is a mascara that I  have wanted to try for a long time now, mostly due to the good reviews it has had from various Youtube Makeup gurus.

Loreal mascara

Silver Barrel does not photograph well with a phone.

When I tried it I was not disappointed. It has a good price point, (around the £10 mark) and for that investment I would say that this is a mascara that girls should check out for themselves.

When I tried it, I did not test the waterproof ability of the L’oreal False Lash Telescopic mascara. (However I did recently have a  crying fit when I went to hospital, so I can say the Estee’s Sumptuous Extreme Lash Multiplier Mascara held up relatively well even though the formula is not waterproof – as long as you catch the tears fairly quickly with a tissue.)

The L’oreal Telescopic wand is a thin rubberised construction, which means that you can get to even the most stubborn of your thin eyelashes. The overall effect once applied is quite impressive.

This mascara is going to be in my top five and so I recommend that people check out the L’oreal False Lash Telescopic ( even though it does have a long name,) because this formula at this price point, is worth investigating for yourselves.

My favourite mascara of the moment.

I have tried many, many mascaras. And I thought I had found the real deal in the Benefit They’re Real mascara. But I have found one to top it. And it comes from Estee Launder.

Mascara review

Sumptuous Extreme

Estee’s Sumptuous Extreme Lash Multiplier Mascara, comes with a large brush, and not the rubberised version that you would get with Benefit and many other of the newer mascaras. The volume and the length are extreme. And it is indeed my favourite mascara of the moment. ( There is always another mascara around the corner.)

But one word of warning. This stuff really hurts if it get into your eye. So if you have sensitive eyes or your eyes are prone to watering, I would stay away. Me? I have decided to risk it because the pay off it worth it And no primer is needed with this mascara.

Pump up Booster Mascara

I purchased this on the basis of feedback given on the Superdrug website.

Miss Sporty Mascara

Mascara by Miss Sporty, sadly this one does not live up to expectiations

But unfortunately for me all this mascara produced was spidery lashes. So despite its low price tag, other mascaras I tested far out performed this mascara by Miss Sporty.

If you want a good mascara at a low price point, then the NYC Showtime would be a much better investment for your pennies.

NYC Showtime Mascara – put a show everyday!

This is an excellent mascara. It provides volume and length and is a great everyday mascara, despite its theatrical title.

If you want a little bit of glam everyday, then this is the mascara for you.And considering its price point. 1.99, this one is a no brainer .Again I hear myself saying that this mascara is worth at least ten times its price.

What my reviews prove is that you don’t have to spend a fortune to get a great mascara. They are out there and you don’t have to get out your credit card to buy them. This one is just pocket change; but don’t discount it.  For less than two pounds this mascara is a strong contender for the best list.

Jordana Mascaras. Quality mascaras that are worth talking about.

Is the name Jordana unfamiliar to you? Well that may he because it is a family owned business in America who sell through drug stores.

As I am on a quest to find the very best mascaras and cut through the marketing blurb, I thought I should check them out and so had some flown over to the UK.  Yes they are unavailable through the likes of Boots or Superdrug, so I went looking on Amazon and had some sent to me.

These are good quality mascaras. Two were made in the States and one was made in Italy.

My favourite was The Best Extreme Length mascara which comes in pink and black packaging, followed closely by the Best Lash Extreme Volumizing, this comes in lilac and black packaging. The Best Volume Extreme, which comes in a lime green packaging, did not really impress me at all. But I had to try them out, as a few Youtubers were saying that Jordana brand was very good and great dupe for the Mally mascara that I like, but comes in at the twenty five pound mark once you include postage and packaging from QVC

These three mascaras cost not me somewhere between ten and fifteen pounds in total including shipping. So that for me is a pretty good deal. And the two that I choose were definitely worth the wait.

If you what to read my Mally mascara review you can read it here

And check out the About page.

Benefit They’re Real Mascara.

Benefit They’re Real Mascara is in a word, good. it is one of the few mascaras that actually lives up to it’s hype.

036

I actually think I prefer this product without a lash primer because then you get too much volume and length, but if you have shorter lashes then a primer may make all the difference to you and this again would be your product of choice.

I don’t really have any negatives about this mascara. I actually think everyone should try it out. And this comes from a woman who has made it her mission to try mascaras at every price point to see where the good ones are.

They’re Real Mascara retails around the £22 pound price point. It will negate the need for lash primer for many and so this is a good value product in my opinion.

034

I really like it, and I am a tough critic, but when you find something that lives up to the hype it is a joy to shout about it. So go and buy one today!

If you would like the opportunity of a makeover with some beautiful picture to capture the moment, just call or email me, the details are on this website. there is no charge unless you are absolutely delighted.

Lancome Hypnose mascara review

Ok, recently I have been on a mission to review many mascaras that have received attention in the media and some that I have found to be popular without the hype. I trailed the review section for hours or research on the Superdrug wesite to find mascaras that have received a 5 star review with the public, and pitched them against some bigger named brands to see what the results were and see what really is value for money.

Lancome Hypnose is around the £22 pound mark here in Britain. A little pricey some would say, but others might consider it mid range. Whatever you viewpoint, this mascara is nice and performed well. I test with and without an eyelash primer. Without the primer it was ok but with the primer it performed much better. However that does seem to be the case for most mascaras.

Lancome Hypnose mascara

Hypnose mascara

To me this mascaras lengthened and added a little volume. I would keep it because it really performed well on my bottom lashes and as I have a few missing on one eye, this has really become a standard test for me. Apart from that it did not dramatically add volume.

If you are looking for a mascara to fill in sparse areas and lengthen your lashes then is a mascara for you. If you are looking for volume, then perhaps another brand would be better.

This Hypnose mascara did not perform better than my drug store brand collection 2000 mascara so I would rather pay £4 than £22. If I could not get hold of my regular brand, this is definitely an alternative.

Mally Mascara – Make-up worth investing in.

Well the mascara wars are really firing up. Let’s face it there are so many mascara’s out there each one promises to be the next best thing. So I am going to put them through their paces.

I didn’t think I was going to like this mascara. How wrong could I be?  As long as you do not over load the brush it works fine. In fact, it works more than fine and I was astounded about the length and volume of the lashes.

The only thing I don’t like about this mascara is the price. QVC are selling this at £17.50 plus postage and packaging. So we are looking at around the twenty pounds mark. QVC do sell duos of Mally mascara, but they seem to be a different formulation. The duos are priced at around the £24.00 mark.

I really don’t think that you should have to pay more than around the ten pounds for a mascara. Unless of course the results are exceptional, and even then, I would find that price hard to swallow.

Women spend a lot on their make-up. Cosmetics is big business. I am still looking for that one brand that can meet all my needs. But that is asking a lot and we do like to mix and match, otherwise it would be a little boring.

Anyway Mally has won a consumer choice award from QVC and it has been highly rated elsewhere.

Here are my results:

Volume with Mally

This second view shows that actually Mally Provides more volume than the ELF mascara reviewed previously The Mally mascara is just one coat, where as with the ELF I used two coats and curled them again afterwards.

As I have very fair and sparse lashes the Mally Mascara did a pretty good job. Actually both the ELF and the Mally mascaras did a good job. But the Mally smudgde less and was a lot easier to get off. The ELF mascara really did leave a mess when trying to remove it.

ELF Mascara – Makeup made easy.

Reviewing make-up so that you don’t have to.

Although I am perfectly happy with my Collection 2000 Multiplier   mascara. It has taken me a long, long time to find  a mascara that I am happy with. Mostly, I think, because the big cosmetic companies over promise, and under deliver. So with this in mind I am on a quest to find other mascaras that I can rely on should my favourite disappear.

ELF Mascara make-up

ELF mascara tube makeup

Elf or rather E.L.F  Eyes Lips and Face is a company that is based upon the principal that quality cosmetics should not cost a fortune. The company was founded by Joseph Shamah and Scott Vincent Borba  in 2004, apparently after seeing wealthy women in Los Angeles buying Drug Store cosmetics.

The make-up has been featured in Glamour , Instyle and Good Housekeeping magazines and the cosmetic company’s 100 piece Endless Eyes Pro Eyeshadow Pallet was featured in Oprah Winfrey’s “O” magazine on Oprah’s Favourites Things list. And then the make-up pallet sold out.  All this info comes from Wikipedia. But I have read the same details time and time again on various websites.

With such a pedigree following, I thought it only right I should check it out for myself. In this country ELF is only available through its website and has one store in Wales.

The make-up is made in China. The packaging reads: Made in China Designed in the USA. As I have said before in another article, I have no problem with cosmetics made in China, as long as the quality control is good. Many mainstream brands are made in China. I was very surprised the other day to see that some products from Rimmel are made in China. I was surprised because their advertising campaign would lead you to believe very differently. Rimmel’s slogan “Get the London Look”  along with their London, England centric advertising campaign, does not really get you thinking of factories in Southern China.

Ok, another rant over. The ELF mascara was fabulous. The brush was very well designed and separated the lashes nicely. It was easy to apply a second coat and I did not notice much in the way of smudging throughout the day. I was very, very surprised and really pleased that a mascara priced at £3.75 could deliver so much. It was so much better than the Loreal Voluminous 4x that I purchase and reviewed a few days back.

I only discovered the ELF brand by watching various youtube video of makeup tutorials and decided to seek it out. In general the packaging leaves a lot to be desired, but as far as the mascara goes, this is a great every day product.

So here is me without any mascara

Eye without mascara

Waiting for my mascara and the rest of my make-up

And this is me with ELF mascara after eyelash curlers but no primer.

ELF mascara

ELF mascara and nothing else.

Ok, I know it is the other eye, but you get the idea. And it is really difficult to focus iphones close up. And I am trying to take pics of myself without shaking the image.I think you can see that there is a marked improved in the appearance of my lashes, and this without eye-liner so that you can see how it works on lower lash. So I say that this mascara is well worth its price tag.

The worst mascara I have used in a long time.

And it is L’oreal Voluminous 4X.mascara. I am thinking perhaps that I got the wrong product. I wanted the orginial formual and I have one in a lilac packaging. It seems to be formulated for sensitive eyes.

001

It was so thin and watery and I needed two coats plus a lash primer. I hate it when you waste money on a product. But what can I say, it just was two lacklustre for my liking. Perhaps if you have contacts then this is the product for you. But for me, well I need the original formula that the Americans seem to rave about and I think it is in Carbon Black.  So back to the mascara counter for me.
